As a new resident of France, I have found advertising flyers to be quite helpful in figuring out where to obtain some of the things we want and need, like the desk I mentioned in a previous post, so I always pick up whatever flyers are available when checking the mail box..
We get flyers for all the same sorts of things as we do in Vancouver, grocery stores, departments stores, pharmacies, etc. We also get flyers for car makers like Toyota, Chrysler and Citroen, which have been helpful in giving us an idea of what a new car would cost - so far the cheapest is a Chrysler at just under 6500 euros, and Toyota a close second at just under 7000 euros (no, we are not going to buy a new car, just getting an idea of what they cost before we buy a used one).
The one flyer that did surprise me though, was this one:
Who knew that our local wine shop had a flyer? Cool.
